House on the Corner
A picturesque corner lot in rural Litchfield County sets the stage for a family home designed to be built in phases.
Phase 1, completed in 2025, comprises three distinct volumes. The first is a two-story barn-like structure housing a garage, mudroom, and bedroom suite on the first floor with children's bedrooms, a large recreation room, office, and gym above. A central volume serves as the main entry, mediating between the public and private areas of the home. The third volume — a single-story structure — contains an expansive kitchen and family room that open to unobstructed mountain views.
Phase 2 will introduce a fourth volume: a two-story colonial-style residence for the family's private quarters. Designed to feel original to the property, it will anchor the composition and unite the existing volumes into a cohesive whole.
