Tudor Renovation
Nestled on a 16-acre estate in Farmington, Connecticut, this 7,400-square-foot Tudor home was begging for an interior renovation to erase a 90’s era update.
SKM worked with the owner to create an eclectic home that retains the moody warmth of Tudor architecture. The removal of a kitchen wall and an outdated butler's pantry opened up the space for a breakfast banquette. Inspired by the existing leaded glass windows, a steel-and-glass partition allows natural light into the new walk in pantry while providing a visual separation.
Stained oak cabinetry and beams complement the home’s original details, with bold blue cabinetry adding a vibrant accent. The living room showcases a stepped ceiling detail and modern stone mantel.
