SKM Design opened up the main floor of this 1938 house, creating a seamless connection between the kitchen and dining room and extending the flow naturally out to the backyard patio which includes a new outdoor kitchen..

The expanded kitchen anchors the home — a true hub for cooking, working, and gathering around the table. A blue and white palette keeps things feeling fresh and unpretentious, while thoughtful details add just the right layer of style. A relocated powder room gave way to a new mudroom and side entry, gracefully separating the mess of daily life from a front entry meant to welcome. In the living room, oak bookcases and a marble fireplace surround bring a modern touch to a space that still feels like home.
